Nearly 700,000 children experience abuse or neglect each year. Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers are utilized in Courts throughout the country to assist them in determining what is in the “best interest” of the minor child. CASA of Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot County serves Sandusky County Juvenile Court.

We believe that children deserve a safe, permanent, supportive environment in which to live. In support of the Mission, CASA will:

VOLUNTEER

Community volunteers are needed to become trained advocates for children who have been abused or neglected. A CASA volunteer conducts independent investigations and monitors cases of child abuse, neglect and dependency by reviewing records and interviewing those involved in the child’s life. Documentation is maintained so the CASA volunteer may speak for the best interests of children who are brought before the Court and ensure that the best interests of those children are represented in the Court system.

Becoming a CASA volunteer is an investment of time, energy and heart. Applicants are screened in accordance with the local and national CASA’s Quality Standards, which includes the following minimum requirements:
